AI Movie Trailers - Retro Super Panavision 70 Series.

ROLE: Concept, Storyboarding, AI Visual Design, Prompt Crafting, Animation Direction, Editing, Sound Design, Post-Production

This collection of AI-generated trailers dives into the bold aesthetic of 1950s Super Panavision 70 cinema, with a personal twist. Instead of simply reimagining existing films in a retro format, I created fictional sequels inspired by fan theories and the original director’s tone and themes. These trailers combine nostalgia with fresh ideas and reflect my evolving approach to AI-driven storytelling.

Each trailer in this series was created using a custom workflow built around the latest AI tools available at the time of production. I use MidJourney for visual concept art, ChatGPT for scripting and creative development, and a mix of image-to-video generators including Kling, Luma AI, Runway, Higgsfield, and Hailuo. I also use professional audio separation tools to isolate dialogue and sound effects when needed, along with selective AI face-swapping for enhanced realism. Every element is crafted to maintain a creative edge and push the boundaries of what’s possible with AI-driven storytelling. I also added my custom 35mm Film Overlay from my previous company FilmOverlay.com to add an analog film texture to ground the synthetic visuals.

This fictional sequel imagines a fresh rebellion set against a modern backdrop. Instead of the dead president masks from the original, this version features masked tech billionaires, a reflection of today’s power structures and their impact on the American public. Ana de Armas joins the cast as a sharp and enigmatic new character whose motives remain unclear. Styled in a 1950s Super Panavision 70 format, the trailer uses AI-generated visuals and motion to deliver a retro yet socially aware continuation of the Point Break legacy.

This imagined sequel builds on Quentin Tarantino’s own ideas for a third installment, combining elements from interviews, fan fiction, and deep research into the Kill Bill universe. Several new characters are introduced, many inspired by fan-created storylines, adding fresh layers to the legacy of the Bride. The trailer also brings in a surprising crossover with Rufus Thomas, revealed to be Jules Winnfield from Pulp Fiction, continuing his journey to walk the Earth and now caught in a blood-soaked tale of revenge and redemption. Styled in the rich cinematic look of 1950s Super Panavision 70, this AI-generated trailer pays homage to Tarantino’s signature tone while pushing the story into bold new territory.

This imagined sequel picks up on the long-rumored plans to revive Big Trouble in Little China, with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson stepping into the chaos. Inspired by real industry speculation, the trailer reintroduces the mystical, neon-lit world of the original while updating the energy with Johnson’s modern action-hero presence. The visuals are designed in the vibrant, widescreen style of 1950s Super Panavision 70, combining AI-generated setpieces with a playful, supernatural tone. It’s a tribute to cult cinema with a wink toward the reboot that almost happened.

This trailer was an early experiment in riding the wave of online speculation, created during a time when rumors of a Constantine sequel were circulating heavily. Leonardo DiCaprio was added to the cast as a way to amplify the concept with a high-profile presence, aligning with the trend-driven approach behind this piece. Unlike later projects that leaned more into original storytelling, this trailer stays closer to the tone and structure of the existing universe. Styled in the haunting mood of 1950s Super Panavision 70, it served as a creative test of what happens when hype meets restraint.

This trailer was my first exploration into the world of 1950s Super Panavision 70 aesthetics. Rather than reimagining a sequel or introducing new characters, I focused on staying true to the source material and the traditional visual style of the format. No face-swapping or advanced AI enhancements were used, just pure prompt-based MidJourney imagery in line with early AI video experiments. While this piece is more straightforward, it marked a turning point in my creative process. It helped me see the potential in blending film research, fan theories, and visual storytelling to create more original and cinematic concepts moving forward.
